1. Confirm Claude Code is available
claude --versionIf this fails, fix the Claude Code installation before troubleshooting Superpowers.
2. Check the installed plugin list
claude plugin listLook for Superpowers and note the marketplace, version, enabled state, and installation scope.
3. Re-run the official marketplace install
claude plugin install superpowers@claude-plugins-official --scope user4. Update the plugin
claude plugin update superpowers@claude-plugins-official --scope user5. Start a fresh Claude Code session
After installation or updating, close the current session and start a new one in your project. Then use a task that clearly calls for planning, debugging, or test-driven development.
6. Check scope if the plugin appears in one project but not another
A user scope is available across projects. A project scope is stored with project configuration. A local scope is specific to that project and is normally gitignored.
7. Use Claude Code diagnostics for dependency problems
If Claude Code reports plugin dependency or configuration errors, review the details in the plugin list and Claude Code diagnostics. Resolve the named missing or disabled dependency instead of repeatedly reinstalling unrelated components.
Copy the exact terminal error and compare it with the command you ran. The error message is usually more useful than a screenshot of a blank or failed state.
